In 1893, the Chicago and Northwestern Railway expanded across Wisconsin more than any other railroad company at the time. Neenah was a prime spot for the Chicago and Northwestern Railway to pass through considering the large amount of manufacturing that was taking place in the city. The black lines in the map above show Chicago & Northwestern railways, while the white show all other railroads. While other companies were present, Chicago & Northwestern was clearly the leader in Wisconsin at the time.
